Software Project Manager (male/female)

This is an individual contributor role as a Software Developer for Xavo Software AG in Bayreuth, Germany. It is a full-time position with 40 working hours per week. Roles and responsibilities

  • Full spectrum of project management tasks with full responsibility for the quality, time and budget of the project

  • Lead the project team in all day-to-day activities, pass on responsibilities, monitor the execution of project tasks and proactively implement corrective action if necessary

  • Create and maintain project plans and provide project reporting and financial forecasts on an ongoing basis

  • Act as the main business interface to the customer, manage the commercial aspects of the customer relationship (e.g. change orders, service levels, procurement)

  • Contribute to the definition, development and test of the project deliverables

  • Manage complete Software deployments on-site with customers

  • Conduct user trainings, which includes developing training materials etc. 


required skills

  • Deep understanding of complex technical processes and problems, their dependencies and respective solutions in Research, Development and Production

  • Project Management skills (e.g. methodologies, leadership, business understanding)

  • Knowledge of the ISA S95 and experience in dealing with MES/MOM systems

  • A fundamental understanding of Unix/Linux-based systems and databases

  • The ability to develop software-based solutions of technical problems in C# is a plus

  • Highly efficient as a team player as well as in solo tasks

  • Strong orientation towards quality, customer satisfaction and reaching and exceeding business targets

Formal prerequisites

  • Relevant vocational education or college degree or multiyear professional experience in a similar role in the Software industry

  • A Project Management certification and basic skills in finance/accounting are a plus

  • Excellent language skills in German and English

  • Willingness to travel regularly (e.g. be on-site with customer) – max. 30% of working days
